Seaport security, around the world, is in a constant process of extensive improvement, in order to meet the international ISPS security standards and in many cases even beyond.
Gordon Consulting Engineers Ltd. has won an international tender published by Kenya Port Authority (KPA), funded by the World Bank, for consulting and planning for Mombasa Port advanced and sophisticated security systems against the growing terror and criminal activity threats.
The port of Mombasa is a major Gate to Africa, through which most of the trade takes place from China, Japan, India, and East Asia into the African continent therefore, it is of vital importance to ensure its operational continuity.
For over 3 years Gordon Engineers level has planned, supervised and managed the port’s protection project, which has been brought to a very high operational and technological level
Gordon Engineers’ security experts performed in this Project a wide range of consulting and engineering tasks which included Site Survey, design with technical specifications, Bill of Materials, work drawings, and supervised the implementation of the system which is currently operating with great success.
After few years, two new gates were built in the Port of Mombasa, and KPA once again contracted Gordon Engineers to design and supervise the execution of security systems and its Automatic Gate Management systems.
