Project Description
The Singapore Prison Department together with the Singapore Public Work Department issued in May 2000 an international tender for security consulting and engineering project for its new “Changi Prison Complex”. This prison is intended to accommodate in one place more then 22,000 inmates and as such will be the biggest known correctional institution in the world.
J. Gordon Consulting Engineers Ltd. together with Singaporean engineering company MSE won this tender and started immediately the required work. The “Changi Prison Complex” is a very modern and sophisticated complex including a variety of the most advanced security and communication systems. J. Gordon Consulting Engineers Ltd. developed the required security concepts and operational plans, as well as, the detail design of the various security and communication systems, tender documents, “on-site” supervision, and acceptance tests
