Project Description
Polish State Railways (PKP) is the major transportation operator in Poland. The company operates a complex system of passengers and cargo, thousands of employees, a large number of diverse facilities spread on a wide geographical area, and extensive infrastructure. Like similar other railways, PKP is a national critical infrastructure vulnerable to security threats.
Gordon Consulting Engineers Ltd. was chosen to design the enhancement of the existing security level. The Warszawa Central Station was chosen as a “case study” due to its importance of the operation, location in the heart of the Polish capital, a large number of passengers passing through it, and the diversity of local and international destinations of trains.
Gordon Engineers team formulated the concepts for security enhancement and accomplished the detailed design of future security solutions as the model and benchmark to other Polish Railways Stations.
