Project Description
Expo 2015 in Milano Italy was an extraordinary universal event displaying tradition, creativity, and innovation in the business of food. It set the issue of food in light of new global possibilities whose common core is the idea that everyone on the planet should have access to food that is healthy, safe, and sufficient.
It was one of the biggest public events ever held in Italy, active for 6 months and with approximate 250,000 visitors per day
The international nature of Expo Milano, the substantial degree of international and national media attention, and the numerous foreign representatives and visitors turned this “Mega Event” to a high-level target for criminals, terrorists, and groups of extremists aiming to generate public disorder.
Securing such an event poses a complex security challenge. On the one hand, there is a security need to inspect all entrants and secure, as much as possible, the facilities, employees and visitors, while on the other hand, it is necessary to create an open event for masses of visitors who should be free, with great pleasure and convenience.
Italian concern Selex which was selected to implement the electronic security systems at the exhibition site engaged J. Gordon Consulting Engineers Ltd. as its partner for the design of the required security system. Gordon Engineers’ operational experts prepared the overall Security Master Plan and our software engineers assist in the development of the Command & Control Software for the Central Security Centre implemented at the exhibition site.
Our company accomplished also the Security Consulting for the Israeli Pavilion that was constructed at the exhibition
